How to Apply …
To attend the 2010 National Scout Jamboree you should first check to make sure that you meet the requirements shown on the qualifications page. Once you see that you are eligible to apply, you will need to follow the process below:
- Go to the "My Scouting" web site to complete the application, pay the $10 application fee and print your confirmation. You will need your BSA ID number or your Social Security number to access the application site. This application does not guarantee a position as part of the contingent or on staff.
- Send a copy of the confirmation, along with a $100 deposit to:

- Each application (youth, adult, staff) will be reviewed by the Occoneechee Council 2010 National Scout Jamboree committee for approval. It is important that you fill out the application completely. For youth, it is especially important that you have your current unit leader (Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Advisor) sign your application verifying that they support your application. You will be notified following your approval/denial or if additional information is needed. Notifications will be sent at the end of each month for all applications received by the 15th of that month.
- Following Council Approval:
- Youth - Those youth accepted to participate as part of the Occoneechee Council Contingent will be contacted in early 2009 and allowed to select both a first and second choice as to which jamboree troop they wish to be assigned. Assignments will be made on a first come, first served basis.
- Adult Contingent Leaders – The interview process for Scoutmasters will be held in the fall of 2008. Those selected will be notified before December 31, 2008. Assistant Scoutmaster selection and notification will be held in the first quarter of 2009.
- Staff - Staff applications are then routed to region for additional approvals and selection
